NDN has advantages over IP-based networks, such as a caching algorithm that regulates how data from content providers or producers is stored.

Some key concepts of Named Data Networking (NDN) include:

Data Names: Data names are used as addresses to identify and find data in the network. For example, instead of using an IP address or URL, NDN uses data names that can reflect the requested content.

Caching: NDN uses the concept of caching at every node in the network. When data is requested, a node that holds it can store a copy of that data. This allows users to get data from the nearest node rather than always communicating with the origin server, improving efficiency and reducing server load.

Name-Based Routing: Routes in NDN are not tied to the host's IP address, but to the data name. This means the address (data name) determines the delivery route, not the IP address of the device storing the data.

Name-Based Security: Security is implemented by exploiting the uniqueness of data names. Each piece of data has a unique name and a digital signature, making it easy to verify the authenticity and integrity of the data.

Content-Centric: The NDN approach focuses on content rather than hosts. Users define what they want by specifying a data name, and the network works to provide that data, regardless of where it is located.

NDN is being developed as part of an initiative to find solutions to problems arising in the current Internet model, such as scalability, security, and content distribution. Although it is still in the development and experimentation stage, NDN has the potential to bring fundamental changes to how networks and data communication are organized on the Internet.

Thank you for the presentation in the BTE Sharing Session, and thank you also to the committee and participants for taking part in this webinar.

See ya next sharing session
❕Greetings, HEI (Harmony, Excellence, Integrity) ❕

Follow the latest news and activities of the Bachelor of Telecommunication Engineering Study Program on Instagram @bte_telu_jkt and the official website bte-jkt.telkomuniversity.ac.id.

Pengertian NDN NDN (Named Data Networking) adalah arsitektur jaringan yang bertujuan untuk menggantikan model komunikasi berbasis host yang umumnya digunakan dalam Internet saat ini dengan model berbasis konten.
